The Collins Firm

The Collins FirmArmed Forces Services Corporation is teaming with Attorney Michael T. Collins, host of the popular "Legally Speaking" WMAL (AM 630) Saturday morning radio talk show, to present a special Estate Planning Seminar focused on the military family.
One of the main concerns of active duty and retired military members that surfaces during our discussions of survivorship and retirement planning is the lack of an effective plan to protect assets and provide security for the family. Wills are outdated, powers-of-attorney stale, medical directives non-existent. Perhaps you are in this situation, or maybe you just want to be better informed about recent changes in the laws and the available options.

Brad Snyder, AFSC's President Emeritus, will discuss survivorship planning and the integration of military and government benefits for the surviving family, including:

  • Retired Pay
  • Social Security benefits
  • Veterans Affairs benefits and
  • The Survivor Benefit Plan

Mike Collins will cover what you need to know about:

  • Wills
  • Trusts
  • Taxes
  • Probate
  • Retirement account planning and
  • How to keep your money in your family
